Game Issues/Errors

In this section we will cover the most common game issues and errors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: I do not own Rainbow Six: Siege on Steam, can I download using my Ubisoft/Epic Games account instead?

expand/collapse icon

Answer:

No, you cannot. Our downloaders use Steam’s depot service to download old versions of the game from
their servers. To access these servers, you need a valid Steam account with a registered license for
Rainbow Six: Siege. You cannot authorize a connection to Steam’s depot servers using a Ubisoft or Epic
Games account, just like you cannot log into Steam with those accounts.

Question: How do I fix the MSVCRXXX.dll error

expand/collapse icon

Answer:

This error occurs when your system is missing a required Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable file. To
fix it, follow these steps:

  1. Visit this page.
  2. Download the ZIP file (not the source code).
  3. Extract the contents of the ZIP file.
  4. Run the installer (install_all.bat) as an administrator.
  5. Once the installation is complete, restart your PC.
  6. Try launching the game again.

If the error persists, make sure your Windows system is fully updated, then repeat the steps above.

Question: How do I fix the uplay_rx_loader64.dll error

expand/collapse icon

Answer:

This error happens when your antivirus blocks a required file.

  1. Create a exclusion in your antivirus settings on your "OldR6" folder.
  2. Replace the cracks.

Question: How do I fix Missing or corrupt DLL files

expand/collapse icon

Answer:

If you encounter any of the following errors, the solution is the same:

  • amd_ags_x64.dll
  • gfsdk_ssao_d3d11.win64.dll
  • vivosxdk_x64.dll
  • bink2w64.dll

Solution:

  1. Delete the specified .dll file.
  2. Run the downloader to verify and restore missing files.

Question: My old Siege version opens the current version or Ubisoft Connect

expand/collapse icon

Answer:

If launching your old Siege version redirects you to the current version or Ubisoft Connect, follow these steps:

  1. Check your antivirus settings: Some files may be flagged as false positives and removed. Ensure you have an exclusion set up for your game folder.
  2. Apply the correct crack: Download the correct crack from the Operation Throwback Discord server.
  3. Replace the necessary files: Copy the contents of the crack folder and paste them into your game directory, replacing existing files.

Once you've done this, try launching the game again.

Question: My old Siege version is stuck preparing content, how do I fix it?

expand/collapse icon

Answer:

If your game is stuck on "Preparing Content" when launching, follow these steps:

  1. Restart the game: Close it completely and try launching it again.
  2. Verify your game files: Run the downloader and let it check for any missing or corrupted files.
  3. Check your antivirus: If the issue persists, your antivirus may have deleted some essential files. Exclude your game folder and reapply the crack if necessary.

This issue usually resolves itself after a restart, but verifying files is a good second step.

Question: Why is my .exe/ launch application missing?

expand/collapse icon

Answer:

If the executable (.exe) file is missing, it usually means one of the following:

  • The download didn’t complete properly: Run the downloader again to verify and redownload any missing files.
  • Your antivirus removed it: Check your quarantine folder and restore the file if necessary. Set an exclusion for your game folder to prevent this from happening again.
  • You might need SKU RUS: Some regions require a special game version. If you're in a country that needs SKU RUS, visit The Downloader page for more details.

Question: Why is my game crashing at the start screen (after pressing button)?

expand/collapse icon

Answer:

If your game crashes right after pressing the start button, it’s likely due to an incorrect username setup in the .ini files.

  1. Open codex.ini in your game folder.
  2. Find the gamename field (it should look like GameName=GameName).
  3. Change it to any name you want. (it must be unique if you have multiple seasons installed.)

If you're using a different crack (like the Lungu crack), you may need to edit cplay.ini instead.

Question: How to change gamename and username

expand/collapse icon

Answer:

Your game name and username are stored in the .ini files.

  • For most cracks, open codex.ini and modify the UserName and GameName field.
  • For the Lungu crack, you may also need to edit cplay.ini.

Note: Make sure to save your changes before launching the game.

Question: My game is in Russian. How do I switch to English?

expand/collapse icon

Answer:

If you installed the SKU RUS version and want to change the language:

  1. Download the localization.lang file from the #guides-and-faqs channel on the Operation Throwback Discord server.
  2. Move it to your game folder, replacing the existing file.
  3. Launch the game, and it should now be in English (or your preferred language).

If you’re unsure whether you need SKU RUS, refer to the Downloader page.

Question: Why do I get a "User profile loading failed" error?

expand/collapse icon

Answer:

This error is normal and does not affect gameplay. Just click "OK", and the game will continue as usual.
